My work explores cultural identity, trauma and gender roles through surreal-expressionist paintings. I find inspiration from my upbringing in Saudi Arabia as a Bangladeshi born expat. Spending my adult life in the United States left me questioning how I define my culture and process my childhood trauma. I use my work to document my cultural journey and understand my relationship to my past. My work allows me to grow and heal.
I am also the creator of Meowism - A religion that worships Cats. As a devout Meowist, I use my work to spread the word of Meowism. My meowist beliefs encourage me to respect all beings and make art about nonfeline animals too.
